Volunteer Opportunities

Clothes closet: Volunteers set up the closet and supervise guests as they pick out clothes on event nights.

Transportation: Volunteers transport guests on shuttle buses between Parker Road DART station and the warming station.

Hospitality: Volunteers serve in various capacities. They register guests as they enter the warming station, secure guest belongings, hand out bedding, provide basic medical supplies, serve meals, or stay overnight.

Showers: Volunteers monitor the showers so the guests can enjoy a hot shower.

Weather communications:  Monitor the forecasted weather conditions and post forecasted temperatures on the POWS website. Communicate with all stakeholders to coordinate the opening of the warming station when weather conditions criterion are met.
